vscode: search/replace in selection doesn't work #1838

Describe the bug

it always only replaces on the first 1000 lines of the cell. it doesn't seem to be aware of the selection.

here's the notebook's search/replace UI, there isn't even a 'Find in Selection' button.

VS Code upstream issue is microsoft/vscode#121218 and we will take this into account when planning for future iterations.
