Pure user error here, but in the spirit of removing rough edges...

I sometimes pluralize the package directory into packages when seeking a package. I get a route not found 404, but my first interpretation is always that I've misspelled the package itself, leading to a tedious back and forth with squinting and copy-pasting, which of course doesn't work anyway.

Maybe:

• say more about the failing route (eg, if the error msg showed that packages is not a valid portion of a route)
• as a special case for this pluralized mistake:
  • provide a link
  • redirect
