14 cameras hardware reccomendation | 2025 | 5 day record and save | 1x Coral | I'm a believer

I love this software! I'll keep it short.

Followed the directions (awesome) and now I'm looking for hardware that will easily handle 14 cameras.
5 @ 720p
the rest at 704x480 ish

(maybe) motherboard
Processor that can easily be passed through Docker (I'm not good at troubleshooting)
(maybe) GPU that can easily be configured (if needed)
I have two, USB Coral when the time comes (or I can do it a different way)
Am I missing something, please let me know.

I have currently have 12 cameras detecting @ 704x480, and it's more than I could've wished for (performance wise).

Please ask me questions to help me understand my own question IF it comes across as too vague.

Wow. The more I understand, the more I am hyper focused on getting this to work for me. If I'm not supporting enough people for this project, please let me know. I am blown away with the ease and efficiency of this software running on MY OWN hardware. I have no clue how github works, but if I am off base or missing an opportunity to help the project, message me or just respond with how I can help. I have 0 friends that can weigh in on this so I'm excited to hear anyone's opinion.

Depending on the amount of activity, a single Coral could easily handle that.

If you have a small budget, even an older i7 that supports OpenVINO (6th generation or later) could handle your needs. You wouldn't even need a Coral at that point.

If you're running openvino with 14 cameras you'll likely want something closer to 9/10th gen since openvino is a bit more CPU intensive
