PySol-Sound-Server (Maintenance fork) Version 3.10 Copyright (C) Markus F.X.J. Oberhumer and others <[email protected]> What is PySol FC? =============== PySol FC is an exciting collection of more than 1000 distinct solitaire card games - visit its home page for more information: http://pysolfc.sourceforge.net/ What is PySol-Sound-Server ? ============================ A Python extension module that plays WAV samples together with MP3 or MOD background music. PySol-Sound-Server should work under any platform that is supported by the SDL library, but currently only Linux, FreeBSD and Win32 have been tested. Prerequisites ============= [ Note: Linux users should download a special semi-static precompiled module from the PySol homepage to avoid the installation of any additional packages mentioned here. Also see src/setup.py.in for instructions how to build this special module from source. ] First you will need to install the Python development headers and libraries. Then you will need to install the SDL and the SDL-MPEG (smpeg) libraries, which are both freely available under the GNU LGPL: SDL 1.2.7 http://www.libsdl.org/ smpeg 0.4.4 http://www.lokigames.com/development/smpeg.php3 smpeg 0.4.x http://icculus.org/smpeg/ How do I build the server ? =========================== $ cd src $ ./configure # Possibly python2 instead $ make PYTHON=python3 $ make PYTHON=python3 strip [optional] $ make PYTHON=python3 test $ make PYTHON=python3 install Copyright ========= PySol-Sound-Server is Copyright (C) 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 Markus Franz Xaver Johannes Oberhumer <[email protected]> PySol-Sound-Server is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). See the file COPYING. PySol-Sound-Server includes modified portions of the MikMod and SDL_mixer libraries (which are both also available separately under the terms of the GNU LGPL). Thanks ====== Special thanks to Sam Lantinga and the other people at Loki - Unix gaming wouldn't be what it is today without their ongoing efforts. Thanks to Markus Oberhumer for originating this and PySol . Thanks to https://github.com/rezso for requesting this to be updated to Python3 and reporting remaining problems. Have fun, Shlomi http://www.shlomifish.org/
